According to historians, the Gorakh Hill was explored during British Rule in 1860 as summer resort at top of Kirthar Range in Dadu district. The top of Kirthar Range is covered with attractive beautiful scenery, waterfalls and soothing temperature throughout the year.
The Government of Sindh is in the process of constructing a new road from Dadu to Gorakh Hill. There is a new rest house for visitors on the hill. Tourists can arrange their own transport from Sehwan Sharif to the hill station. Locally it is said that Gorakh is derived from Balochi word "Gurkh", but the Balochi word "Gurkh" comes from the Persian word "Gurg" which means wolf.
